FACDL Miami shares the sentiments of its counterparts in the legal community in mourning the passing of United Statcs District Court Judgc, Marcia G. Cooke, who passed away last week in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Judge Cooke was an exceptional jurist who trailblazed her way to becoming the first Black female federal judge in the State of Florida.
FACDL Miami will forever appreciate the contribution Judge Cooke made to the community and the service to our clients. Her fairness, compassion and understanding will sorely be missed and her memory cherished.
Judge Cooke received the Gerald Kogan Judicial Distinction Award in 2015.
